Mock- role play

Wow... it's really annoying when you make a last minute work... Me and Zubair just finished working on our role-play script last night and the role-play is TOMORROW????? Hmm, anyway, men are always like that. They tend to delay their works until they really desperate to finish them.

Today, we are practising for our role-play. Miss Dila checked our scripts and suggest several improvements. Judging through my script, i really need to improve on my language skill. In the role play, i will act as a doctor and zubair as the patient with meningitis. And the most challenging part is when I need to tell him about the disease and face his unexpected actions... Maybe this will be a good training for me before I jump to the doctor's world... I hope Allah will make my way become easier...

passive and active voice...

pergh.... what a great day... i've managed t woke up early, completed my subuh prayer at the musolla and recited few pages of the Holy Quran. I can feel that i'm a having a really great day today...

Owh, today is the presentation of Abortion in Introduction to Islam and Medicine class by some of my friends. They had really done well on their presentation. I can understand that generally, abortion can be done before 120th day of the pregnancy. However, certain sects stated that it is illegal as abortion can be considered as killing......

In our english class today, we learned the active and passive voice. It sounded boring to me but Miss Dila said that this lesson is really important as we need to use appropriate type of voice whenever we want to communicate among doctors or with the patients themselves or their families and relatives. Passive voice is more to formal and usually it is used when professionals like medical officers or specialists communicate between each other. Sometimes they will use scientific or medical terms that not all people capable to understand. Of course, this type of voice is not suitable for communication between doctors and patients or with their families. Active voice is more like everyday conversation. It is more likely suitable for doctors to communicate with patients and their families... IMPORTANT!!! ROLE PLAY IS NEXT WEEK.... STILL IN PROGRESS..

Sir, according to my diagnossis, you will die tomorrow! (Ahaks!)

Patient: Doctor, I had a stomach ache
Doctor: How is the pain?
Patient: The pain is like you feel pain in stomach.
Doctor: No, I mean how pain is the pain?
Patient: Owh, the pain is like pain.
Doctor: ??????
How to describe a pain? Today's lesson will make me understand about it. InsyaAllah. Sometimes, the pain do not always feel the same. Pain of stomachache does not the same as Headache. Sometimes the pain feel like pressing or stabbing or throbbing or intense or anything else. It is compulsory for the doctors to know about that. Different tpe of pain will have different dosage of pain-killers to decline the pain.
Another thing that really made today's lesson interesting is about how to break bad news to patients. I wonder how is the best language and facial expression that doctor need to make to deliver the bad news (hippocrite!). Ahaks..... However, the most important thing is understand our patient and deliver the news at the right place and time. Otherwise, your ear will be loaded with the patient's rebuke....

Working under pressure is my future life....

Is it true that doctors always work under pressure? Well, we can see that pressure is just a toy in doctor's life. Doctors have to work fast and and accurate especially in emerganecy department. Do I have the durability to withstand this type situation? Maybe. But I can't guarantee that. That's make me still hessitate about being a doctor especially when future doctors need to face crazy-like housemanship period. But, my strong will still make me stick to my option. Being a doctor is my choice, not my mum or dad or teachers or anybody else.
Hmm, today's lesson is about working under pressure that most medical profesionals need to face. In the critical circumstances, it is very important that all medical team understand each other, help other and stay calm especially when making decision. Anger, rushing, stress will effect the decision that the doctors and other medical team need to make especially about prescribing treatments to the severely ill patients.
